Betting on the Masters, 12-1 on the Field

I heard you can beat on the masters. Where you can take the field with 12-1 odds that includes everyone that isn’t Rory Mcilory, Tiger Woods or Phil Mickelson.
I’ve looked for this beat. I’ve found a couple of lists like:

However it also includes like 90 other names. I’m wondering if the "Field (Any Other Golfer) 12/1" means you win your bet if someone who isn’t on that long list wins. Or if you win if anyone other then the 1 of the 3 above the "Field (Any Other Golfer) 12/1 " wins.

• At first, I was going to tell you the “field” was going to be all the golfers except for those top 3, but then I did the math and it didn’t add up.

  The first three golfers are listed at 4/1, 5/1, and 8/1. They can’t give those odds and then have 12/1 for EVERY other golfer in the tournament! If they COULD, then everyone would just bet $100 on all 4 of those top 4 choices, and they’d be guaranteed a profit! In fact the MINIMUM profit would be $100.

  The “Field” must be any golfer NOT on the list.

I know it’s THE obvious choice but I’m going with Tiger Woods. He knows how to play Augusta National. Even when he’s not playing well ..he does well. And he’s had a couple of wins in the past couple of months so his game’s heading in the right direction. I’d also fancy Rory Mcilroy. He has unbelievable momentum going into this tournament. And as much as I hate to admit it, he’s easily the best player in the world right now, despite what the rankings say. That being said Luke Donald is in with a great chance. But I’m starting to doubt his mentality in the majors. Lee Westwood? Not this year, a couple years ago maybe, but not now. But I do expect Justin Rose to make a name for himself. Steve Stricker and Matt Kutcher also deserve a mention.

Masters Betting – McIlroy Puts 2011 Augusta Collapse Behind Him With First Green Jacket

For all of Tiger Woods’ (+700) problems with his personal life and health, he always gets up for Augusta, where he has won four times and hasn’t finished lower than T-6 since 2004. His 2011 was ruined because of a leg injury he suffered at Augusta, but Woods still finished T-4 and even though everyone caught fire here on Sunday, the roars for Woods were the loudest on the course. Now, it’s all about his health again as he had to withdraw in the final round at Doral with a sore Achilles, the same one he hurt at Augusta, so keep an eye on Woods over the next couple of weeks. 

Phil Mickelson (+800) also loves Augusta as a three-time winner, and last year’s T-27 was only his second finish outside the top 10 in his last 13 starts here. “Lefty” won at Pebble Beach earlier this year and then lost in a playoff at Riviera, so he has been playing relatively well this season. If there is one tournament a year where Mickelson is a solid golf betting pick, the Masters is it.

Luke Donald (+1800) has had mixed success at Augusta with three top-10s, two missed cuts, a T-38 and a T-48 in his last seven starts here. Last year’s T-4 included three birdies in his last four holes, and the Englishman also had a double-bogey and a bogey on the back nine. For a golfer known for consistency, Donald has trouble finding it here, and that’s all that is holding his back.

The Second Tier

Charl Schwartzel (+2500) stunned everyone with his victory at Augusta last season, but he didn’t go away, finishing in the top 16 in the rest of the majors and he is coming off a T-4 at Doral, continuing a solid stretch of top-fives. The South African has shown that he has the game to compete with the best in the world on a consistent basis and he would be a smart golf betting pick this week.

Dustin Johnson (+2500) has never finished higher than T-30 at the Masters, and if we’re going by natural talent, Johnson is in the top three or five players in the world. But we’ve seen him make some mental mistakes in the past, but Johnson just needs to put himself in positions to get more experience and if his putter can hold steady, he could be a threat on Sunday afternoon. He usually has a short club in his hand on approaches, which gives Johnson lots of birdie opportunities.

Adam Scott (+2800) finished T-2 here last year and he has been relatively steady this season with the ability to go low, although he faltered on the weekend at Doral. The Australian has been more consistent with Stevie Williams on his bag, and because of his success with Woods, there are few caddies that know Augusta as well as Williams, which is a boost for Williams.

The Darkhorses

Justin Rose (+3000) doesn’t seem to buy into pressure, and he never faltered in a win at Doral, which gives him a pretty impressive resume. Since June 2010 the Englishman, who finished T-11 here last year, has won the Memorial (Jack Nicklaus’ tournament), the AT&T National (Woods’ event), the BMW Championship (a FedEx Cup event) and the Cadillac Championship (a World Golf Championship tournament). Could a major be next for Rose?

Steve Stricker (+4000) has finished in the top 11 in two of the last three years at Augusta, and he finished T-8 at Doral. His steady tee-to-green game is always fun to watch and of course, you know all about his putting abilities. But at 45 years old, Stricker doesn’t have much time left to win a major; he needs to do it soon and Augusta may be as good a place as any.

There may not be a more entertaining player to watch than Bubba Watson (+4000), but it doesn’t always work out for him, as shown by his lost lead at Doral. Watson’s best finish here was a T-20 in 2008, but if he manages to grab the lead after 54 holes, watch out, because anything can happen when Watson is on the course.

How It Will Play Out

It’s all about who can handle the pressure on Sunday at Augusta, and after what happened to him last year, Rory McIlroy will erase his demons.

The young Northern Irishman has probably had this tournament circled on his calendar since the Monday after he left Georgia, and he is a wildly competitive player that would like another crack at this course. His win at the U.S. Open last year showed him that he could do it, and there is no one in the world playing better golf than McIlroy, who will hold off Donald for a win as the sports betting favorite at Augusta.

Are there any party games to play while watching the Masters golf tournament

We have a family reunion every year to watch the Masters Golf Tournament. Are there any betting games (like the super bowl score grid) that we can play?

Write the names of the popular golfers onto pieces of paper and fold them and place them into a hat..bag or bowl etcetera. Everyone randomly gets a paper with a golfer on it, and whenever they show a shot being hit by that player, the individual who pulled the name has to drink during the flight of the ball in the air (from contact to set down) and if the ball goes in a hazard or whatever you can add rules for more drinking, or for a birdie or hole in one that person gets to make something happen like more people do more drinking etcetera. But whenever a shot of the people commentating the event are shown on the screen, the last person to yell “fore” has to get a more severe punishment of your deciding. Usually a shot of something like Cuddysark or whatever. Maybe, if both genders are present you can make it a more physical punishment instead, like remove an article of clothes or be forced to do some other form of ridicule. The game is called “Get Shnockered While Watching Golf”

Asking out a guy who might reject me

There is this guy who is 2 years older than me but I go to an all girls school and he goes to an all guy school and we’ve been texting eachother everyday for the past couple months. And i mean literally everyday for hours. He said he likes me as a friend and more than a friend ( like a mix) and i told him i like him too. I’ve been hinting at him that i want to see a movie with him and we have a bet that if he sees the hunger games ill see this golf thing but he hasn’t asked me to see it with him even though I’ve been pushing.

Im not really sure because we’re really flirty and good friends but I don’t want to ruin it especially if he doesnt want to see the movie with me. What would you do? And how would you ask him?

If you are unsure, ask him to just see the Hunger Games. Don’t even bring up the word ‘date’. After the movie talk and laugh and then maybe flirt by saying, “So our next date you’ll buy the popcorn” or “I guess the next time we go out you can pick the movie.”

Should I ask him out

Me and this guy have been texting every single day for hours at a time ( 6 hours on and off) and he said he likes me and i told him i like him but that was a month and 1/2 ago and I really want to go on a date with him. We have this bet that he will go see the hunger games if i watch a golf game but he hasn’t asked me out to see the hunger games even though i’ve been hinting that I might want to.
